Working Notes: a commonplace notebook for recording & exploring ideas.

I've been feeling more frustrated at work than usual, and a friend (KK) recommended this book and this book has been very cathartic for someone who's been working in a large organization for a long time.
Where this book resonates most strongly with me -- and also ties into The Unaccountability Machine (which I also enjoyed a lot) -- is the realization that corporate work often seems like maintaining a shared delusion filled with jargon and discussions that don't necessarily map to any reality.
And the greatest happiness I get at work is from focusing on my craft and building extremely concrete projects and results while gaining skill; and that's also what helps me show up at work.
The later half of the book was more focused on how Human Resources could help transform companies, which was interesting but not as relevant. It is nice to realize that things can be done differently.
