I love having good coffee, listening to music and programming or reading in coffee shops. I met my wife in a coffee shop (*), and we've visited that one every year since.

The advantage of living in New York is that you don't ever run out of great coffee shops: one of the reasons I still find myself fascinated by this city, after several years living here.

- Excellent seating space, bathrooms, wifi; has a theater
- Kona Coffee, Park Avenue
- One of my favorite work/study spots; 2 floors of seats
- The hawaiian lattes are a nice, sweet change of pace; also try the cheese bread
- Voyager Espresso
- Astonishing latte art (always a swan), great snacks
- Only open on weekdays, hidden in a subway station
- Zibetto Espresso Bar, 6th Avenue & 48th Street
- Delicious espressos, good snacks and seating
- Coffee Project, 7th Avenue
- Great seating, can be fairly full often
